"Where
are my photos?!?"
by

If a photo is worth a thousand words, then I
don't need to write my article for the next 5
weeks! My dear Chuck (isn't that the same name as
the horror doll-monster - Chucky!) wasn't able to
include my previous photos to enhance my already
entertaining section of Pagkakaisa. Although I
appreciate the much-improved printing of the last
issue, plus the fact my positioning has been
upgraded (right next to my hubby's too factual
article), pictures will add better visual effect.
 Just to obtain
photos of the wedding of Luther and Trixie,
Dennis had to take professional-style photos
using the only available camera in my house - a
musical clown-face camera belonging to my 3-year
old son. He was kind enough to take the newlyweds
next to their Goldilocks cake together with
Patrick Uy and the rest of the official
photographers. See for yourselves if they'll do.

My deadline to submit my
hand-written article to DOV for him to proofread,
spell-check, etc., etc. (thank God I don't have
to worry about that) is Monday morning. So Miss
Last Minute finds scratch paper, Post ItŪ, pad
paper or toilet paper even to start writing at
midnight or 3 AM Monday morning when I can think
without my kids or Dennis jumping all over me. I
wouldn't actually mind Dennis jumping on me at
that time of the day but of course he is deep in
Dreamland. Even if I tried to get it up, it's no
fun if the other side isn't hugging me back.

So I actually don't see my
article till it's printed and DOV brings it home
Wednesday night. For the last two issues, the
photos of the boys at Heartbeat and the wedding
photos were nowhere to be found. I hope Chuck has
found and included them in this issue.
I may be a bit on the vain side, but I love
photographs whether I'm in them or not. I guess
because my interior designing deals with color
and graphics, photos play such an important role.
One of my favorite accessories is a picture
frame. It tells so much about a person, as shown
not only in the photo but the choice of frame as
well.

My house has several frames,
mostly of me of course, and only a handful of
Dennis. The more kids we have, the more picture
frames fill my house finding space even in the
already cramped console tables.
Last Wednesday, I commissioned Mandy Navasero to
do a photo session at my place taking all my kids
plus the rest of the Prieto grandchildren. The
girls of my brother who live in Michigan were in
town for their summer break. Getting all 6 of
them to smile decently was such a challenge. My
daughter Annika who takes definitely after me was
the perfect subject. Tyrone, on the other hand,
had such an awful "pilit" smile. But
after 6 rolls of film, a couple of them turned
out to be excellent.
Kids grow up so fast and time
does fly by before you know it. You may not share
my passion for pictures but do take a couple once
in awhile or better yet, hire a photographer once
a year. They're the best thing to look back on
and reminisce that "Kodak" moment.
