Truely a great turnout for the 3rd Cigars
Club Meeting!!! Handsome devils, aren't
they? |
by: Rtn. Chuck Montecillo The 3rd Cigars Club was another
resounding success! This was my first
Cigars Club outing and it made it clear
to me that our beloved club, RCMA is
truely a very "tight" and solid
group.
As I have mentioned before in the Annual
Review (btw, those who would like a copy
of the Annual Review, please ask Cherry,
our club secretary), the secret to the
success of RCMA is that our club has fun
serving.
Cigars Club is just an example of the
camaraderrie that RCMA'ers have. This is
a time when we can share our experiences
and thoughts with each other.
Last August 12th, at The Bar in the
Peninsula Hotel, the Cigars Club
conviened. Headed by Rtn. Tony Yap,
RCMA'ers gathered and lit up.
Most notable to mention were the presence
of our Baby Rotarians. Namely, Raffy
Ocampo, Bert Mendoza and Jaco Yupangco.
So early in the game, these mavericks are
already getting involved. The Millenium
RY just got more interesting.
Like a council of Past Presidents: PP
Vince Villafuerte, PP Coch Cochingyan,
IPP Miguel Puyat and PP Arsenic Laurel
were all present supporting the
gathering. (my apologies for missing
anyone... my memory isn't so hot)
The group gathered in a corner booth next
to the bar. Extra chairs and a couple of
tables had to be added to accommodate the
15 or so RCMA'ers present.
From a distance, in the dimly lit bar,
one can hear the laughter and banter
eminating beneath the smoke hovering just
above the group. Since I arrived late,
that was the scene that greeted me as I
approached them.
The end of the Cigars Club meeting, came
at around 9:30pm or so. Because of the
dim lighting, the digital camera couldn't
process images properly. So, we all
decided to do a photo shoot just outside
of the Bar. Even as we were leaving,
people still continued to chat and
exchange jokes and stories. Still
gathered by the entrance to the bar,
after several shots from our trusty Casio
QV-10, RCMA'ers just couldn't end the
night.
If you ever want to relax and kick back
with friends, come to a Cigars Club
meeting. That's what its all about. Being
with friends. And that's what RCMA
members are, FRIENDS... in service.
