"How to Host a
Murder!"
by
First Lady Sea Princess
First mix a potion to convince the Rotary
President to fund the Halloween Party Add a good
amount of your Club Service B specialist. Seal if
off with a little sea witch magic and you get a
perfect concoction to a great Halloween bash.
Although a few days early, the celebration was
such a success. It rated very high on the totally
hilarious scale. I don't even know where to begin
describing the great costumes the Rotary fellows
came in. Even my regular face painter noticed we
have made a vast improvement from last year. I
think you guys are now used to me and have
decided to go with the flow inside of fighting
it. The once sedate Rotary guys have now been
converted to the "cool" category
The evening was perfect, The rain had stopped and
mist was covering the lawn. Bloody-red wine was
served with squid and prawns, which were freshly
grilled to death. Butchered bratwurst and
sausages were chopped and served together with
some pasta. You know that tingling feeling behind
your neck? Well, we got that at the sight of the
ghosts and goblins that night. We had a
living-dead Cinderella (yours truly), a mummy
(DOV), an ax murderer (George Lagos), a masked
murdered (Bobby), two witches (Mai-Mai &
Chatty) and Mr. and Ms. Dracula (Coch &
Grace).
We were also honorably graced with a mix of
royalty from opposite ends
of the globe. We had a sheik from Arabia (Noel
B., King Arthur and Lady Guinevere (PKC &
Carla), a royal Manchurian warrior (Tom), Amadeus
(Eugene), and his Excellency Emperor Obelix
(Alvin). One can not doubt the authenticity of
the Emperor. His shaven head was such a standout
that it won him the grand prize of the male
category
An unusual selection of costumes were also
milling around the ghostlydecorated dungeon
Du'Valdes. There was a turtle (Leni), a tree
(Becky), a Metallica monster (Chuck), a Dominican
Nun (Sandy), a monk (Dong 1) and a priest
(Ralby)!
After a Pictionary game of horror films won by
PKC's team, we awarded the best costumes - the
best couple theme costume, the best male and then
the best female. The King and Queen of Hearts won
best couple, with their handmade crowns providing
the extra edge that won it for them. They must
have come straight from the kingdom of Erap where
his casino buddies are king, too. Dracula Grace
won best female entry, partially as she was most
likely not to come in costume to begin with.
With a new camera and P4,000 cash prize (... if
he can collect P 2,000 from the Laurels who were
fined for only coming in a mask with no costume),
Emperor Obelix treated us to ice cream and
halohalo in Manila Peninsula. It's a good thing
DOV separated our bill because the Laurel boys
and Bryan had so much milkshake and ice cream to
fill their expanding tummies for days.
So how does Rotary host a murder? Come and find
out for yourself next year at our annual
Halloween party!
