If you were supposed

The club's 21st
breakfast meeting was by no means an ordinary one.It just happened to be the week after
our stimulating session on "self-discovery" given by comebacking speaker and
coitus guru Dr.Becky Singson.(can't seem to let go of that one)Everyone huddled in their
own "sharing groups",comparing notes on lessons learned and put to good use for
knowledge such as this is never wasted.
A very
entertaining wake-up call was delivered by Baby Rtn.Tristan Choa(never failing to liven
things up with his quips)as a prelude to the main event--the RCMA elections.Names were
sounded off to fill the top 3 posts of:president, secretary, and treasurer. After "much
debate" and "moments of difficult discernment",treasurer Bobby Roxas asked
that the nominations be closed. In the end,no one had a chance. Not a soul was able to
withstand the political juggernaut of Mon Mayuga,Carey de Venecia, and Jun Ymson who came
out as the victors.
The RCMA then
held it's record "bi-monthly induction" where Baby Rotarians/stragglers Paul
Buenaventura,John Harvey,and Ramon Eugenio
were welcomed into the fold.Baby Rtn.Noel dela Merced had to sigh:"seems
just like yesterday..."
Last week's
speaker was at a precarious situation. Not only was he a near no-show,but he had to outdo
the s.t.e.(sex therapist extraordinaire)who came before him.The speaker,Francis Silayan Go
did not disappoint the masses for his was a topic of great interest.A pastime which club
secretary Alvin Milton Co boldly proclaimed as "better than sex"--golf!There's
nothing like a talk on how to improve the use of one's tools(whichever they may be)to keep
the testosterone-charged room at full attention(no pun intended). The topic was on
customizing golf clubs.Yup!There really is more to golf than a good swing.Alas, what
appeared to most as the unlocking of a wealth of secrets and techniques needed to improve
one's game seemed nothing more than flashbacks of physics hell to an unfortunate few.
The club met
again on thursday for cigar night at Kipling's,Mandarin Oriental.A good number showed up
and had a smashing time.(with "Priscilla Almeda" attending to us,I don't see why
not.)All savored their Monte cristos as the Gambino family played some serious cards in
the corner.V.P.Paul Chuatico and our good doctor,Titos Almendral were relentless in their
pursuit and charmed the waitresses to no end.Looks like some of us wanted a bit more than
a few drinks and a good smoke to remember the evening by.None more than Tristan;who when
nobody was looking, moseyed over to the bar an attempted to ask one of the ladies out on a
date. All under the watchful eye of Mrs.Cumagun who after seeing the wares, like a caring
guardian only wanting the best for her wards--vehemently disapproved!
The action was
still picking up upon my departure from the crime scene.Seems to me like the boys were
just warming up.
