Rotary Ann Lifestyle:
Naughty or Nice
by
First Lady Sea Princess

    As you all know, DOV spent a week in the States to drop our son Tyrone, to rid him of asthma. At first, I was going to be Nice enough to stay behind and take care of the other kids and at the same time, save the X amount of dollars in plane fare. But I couldn't stand sitting around and decided to be Naughty.

    Since Bryan was on Sem break, we sneaked out and flew to Hong Kong for a couple of days, coming back just 2 hours before DOV's arrival. Some friends of mine were on their way back from London, so we met there to chow on some Shanghai crabs, which come only at this time of year.

    So if you wanna know why I missed last week's issue, it was because of my Hong Kong trip. I was going to be Naughty and write last month's article on all the items DOV has been censoring from my writings, thus giving you all juicier news. But my Nicer side overcame me and stopped me from doing so.

Actually, I started writing it but didn't have a way of sending to either Alvin or Matthew. My only means was through fax since my 1-week old computer (which I haven't fully learned to use) crashed on me after my first internet order on Amazon.com. Boy, just when I begin to figure out the wonders of shopping on the net, some external force enters my computer and kills it. I'm sure DOV had something to do about that. He must have realized it was a wrong move to give me a computer as a birthday present.

I feel so technologically behind with electronics. Bryan has attempted to teach me, but since I type so slowly, he has almost given up on me. I can only "type" fast when I'm texting on the cell phone. At least that is one modern technology I have full control of!

Since its invention, I have owned all the styles of it - from the super bulky to the streamlined size that is no bigger than a pager. I can hardly wait for the Nokia phone with video, so I can see the person I am talking to. I heard it should be available in another millennium or so.

My daily ritual includes charging my 2 batteries, making calls in traffic, chain texting, playing Logic and I guess, receiving massive doses of radioactive electrons from the phone. Here are the other Ann's survey answers regarding modern technologies they cannot do without:

* Cell phone - Linda R. and Leni G.
* Toilet - Marides P. and Marisun U.
* Notebook computer, Cell & TV - Becky C.
* TV Remote Control - Grace C.
* Computer - Kathleen S., Gina Lagos, Melissa Romualdez (Baby Rotarians' Anns' names get spelled out!)
* Cell phone and Aircon - Chatty R. (BTW congrats to Chatty on her pregnancy!)
* TV - Sandy A.S.
* Aircon and Hair Dryer - Carla C. (Doctora, what a surprise!)
* Electricity - Nelleke O.
* Aircon - Ailene Litonjua

Funny how there are so many things we can't live without. We live in such advanced times that our big world is indeed getting smaller. Maybe by my next article, I shall already be able to send it personally by email. Just to prove too, that there are brains behind this gorgeous face! Ain't DOV so lucky!
