If you were suppoed to...
If you were supposed to be with us last week . . .

The first meeting for the month of November 1999 went by like a breeze. Since
Pres. Dennis was on a business trip to the United States, the meeting was
chaired by IP PKC who handled the meeting quite well. We must attribute the
jovial mood of the meeting to Baby Rtn. Noel ________ who, being the moderator
of the meeting, called the meeting to order, thus stamping the admirable
qualities of a young leader by usurping the chairman?s prerogative in presiding
over the meeting (a true driven rotarian indeed)!

Upon entering Fairways, the first thing that the members noticed was the food
(or the lack of it, at least for the moment.) As usual, we had our first
monthly meal of scrambled eggs, bacon and the famous vienna sausage (did you
ever wonder of austrians ever ate their sausages this way), just enough
cholesterol to get you through the day. As noted by Baby Rtn. Raffy Ocampo in
last week?s column, the food itself really is food for thought.

Club Treasurer Alvon Co then reported on the signing of the sister club
agreement with ______ of Japan as well as their golf game. Being a true
sportsman, Alvin obligingly agreed to a tiny wager (with PP Miguel as teamate)
of 100 a hole in a golf team event at Sta. Elena. Much to his horror, Alvin
realized that the wager was for US$100 per hole. This he agreed to after having
to rent shoes and clubs from the club (supposes to promote goodwill). Much to
our benefit, however, Al did not have to terminate the club's placement with
him, as they won the golf game; but much to his disappointment, they did not pay
(do you think that that was fair to all concerned?).

Anyway, due to the long weekend, the meeting had to go by with classification
talks from Baby Rtns. George Lagos who made a pitch for his fluid moving
company, and from Baby Rtn. Eddie Boy Romualdez, who pitched for his
architectural firm. Greetings likewise went out to George for his birthday.

PKC closed the meeting by announcing that all RCMA members getting a hole-in-one will be covered (retrocatively) by a hole-in-one insurance that PKC has
obligingly arranged. Hail! Hail! Hail! King Arthur!

Well, that was all there was to last week. If you were supposed to be with us
last week, you didn't miss much.
