Good Morning Rotarians! As this is my first time to write for Pagkakaisa,
please bear with my ineptitudiness! (hey, if the club secretary can get away with bad
english, why can't I with an invented word?):)
Following our usual morning flag ceremony, invocation, fining, etc., the topic of
Alay-Lakad resurfaced like a recurring nightmare, on my part anyway. If you all didn't
know yet, the first time the Alay-Lakad was to be held, it was cancelled due to bad
weather. However, a very devoted and dedicated member arrived at the Cultural Center not
knowing this small detail of cancellation. Apparently, Prez. Dennis had sent a message out
to everyone except this one, truly devoted soul. The reason? The globe line of this member
was not known. (Pssst...Mr. Prez, the only contact number of this member listed at the
back of Pagkakaisa is a globe cellular number.) Anyway, enough about what had happened in
the past. I'm sure that PP Bobby encouraged enough people to go this Sunday, including
this devoted soul.
Also, the agenda included an announcement for the RGFFT (is this right Paul?) tournament
to be held in Baguio this coming January. If the body count is anything like the one we
had for the Luisita and Mimosa trip, I think the trip will be excellent. Although, Sec.
Alvin has stated for the record that if someone (read Coch) goes, he will not.
Our guest speaker was Miss Naira Orbeta and she was fantastic. Way to go Bobby Ro! She is
the Head of the Sports Psychology Unit for the P.S.C. And, as you may well have guessed,
all questions asked were about golf. Some valid and serious questions were asked on
anything from golf swing thoughts to how to handle anger. Can you guess which club
members' name came up ALL the time? I think Coch knows. Ask him. |
